Crackers and dips offer great comfort food, and double up as fabulous finger food at parties too. There’s nothing like light, healthy yet delicious food to fill the rumblings in the tummy. For days like this only quick, simple and flavourful seriously works. Also, for days like these, KitchenAid is your best friend. Nothing to beat a workhorse that does everything, pampers you unknowingly, and delivers like nothing else!

While the dough is resting and baking, pull out the KitchenAid Pro Line Cordless Hand Blender and whip up two amazingly delicious dips to go alongside. They are both addictive so beware. You might need to bake another batch of crackers soon, and then more dip! I think you get the drift.



Makes: 75 X 2″ crackers            Total time: 1 hour {plus resting time}


– KitchenAid Stand Mixer

– KitchenAid Pro Line Cordless Hand Blender



– Whole-wheat flour: 200g

– Oats: 50g

– Cloves garlic (minced): 2-3

– Sesame seeds: 25g

– Sea salt: 1/2 teaspoon

– Extra virgin olive oil: 30ml

– Buttermilk: 150ml {approximately}



– Place all ingredients except buttermilk in bowl of KitchenAid Stand Mixer with dough hook fitting, and blend on low speed 2 to stir.

– Gradually add buttermilk to make a firm, pliable dough, kneading on speed 6 for 5-7 minutes until the dough is firm and smooth. Cover and leave to rest for 30 minutes.

– Preheat oven to 170C. On a lightly dusted surface, take a ball of dough and roll it out as thinly as you can to a rectangular shape to fit the tray. Transfer dough to the KitchenAid Non Stick Cookie Sheet.

– Take a pastry / pizza cutter and cut into desired shapes.Bake for about 15-18 minutes until light golden brown. Keep an eye on them towards the end as they can over brown pretty quick.

– Cool completely on racks. Store in an airtight container. Serve with dips.

– Red bell peppers: 2 nos.

– Small ripe tomatoes: 2 nos.

– Red chilli peppers {2 made it quite hot}: 1-2

– Olive oil: 3 tablespoon

– Cloves garlic: 4 nos.

– Fresh coriander (loosely packed): 1/2 cup

– Coriander stalks: 1/8 cup

– Juice of lime: 1 no.

– Honey {optional}: 2 teaspoon

– Salt to taste

– Place whole bell peppers, tomatoes and chilli peppers in air fryer {or on a baking sheet} and roast until blistered.Transfer to bowl, cover and cool for about 15 minutes.Peel and discard seeds.

– Transfer to KitchenAid Pro Line Cordless Hand Blender jar (as shown in the picture) with fresh coriander greens and stalks, garlic, juice of lime, olive oil and salt.

– Process for 2-3 minutes until blended to desired consistency.

– Taste and adjust seasoning. Stir in honey if desired. Chill covered for a while for flavours to mature.

– Radish (peeled, roughly chopped): 1 no.

– Fresh coriander leaves (loosely packed): 1/4 cup

– Roasted peanuts: 2 tablespoon

– Green garlic: 2 stalks

– Garlic cloves: 2 nos.

– Yogurt (hung): 1 1/2 cups

– Rock salt: 1 teaspoon

– Juice of 1/2 lime

Crackers & Dips (14)


– Place radish, garlic, garlic greens, fresh coriander and peanuts in bowl of KitchenAid Pro Line Cordless Hand Blender.

Crackers & Dips (15)

– Pulse on low speed for 30 seconds, gradually increasing speed to high. Process until finely chopped.

Crackers & Dips (17)

– Whisk yogurt, lime juice and salt in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in the radish mix. Taste and adjust seasoning. Chill for about 30 minutes. Drizzle over with extra virgin olive oil.
